Shannon is an Ontario artist working in a wide array of mediums from paint to video. Her painted works have evolved from pieces like this one, botanical and designerly (like a lovely wallpaper), to include townscapes and rural settings that are pleasantly coloured and raw. I love how she often paints on board and wood, and besides her glowy underpainting she only uses a few colours in her compositions. Her more current works remind me of vintage photographs. But her botanicals are captivating still. You can see many of them (including Fall Roses) on her website > designs
Close up you can see it's careful layers and shapes, and it's interesting to fit this in to the line of her work and how she currently layers colours. It's done on board and has hanging fixtures on the back.
